Dr. Swaminathan, a Board-Certified Physiatrist and Electromyographer (EMG/NCV) has been affiliated with our Gurnee office in 2007. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Chicago School of Medicine and currently serves as staff physician at VAMC North Chicago and holds hospital privileges at Vista Medical Center East. She believes that electrodiagnosis is an indispensable tool in the understanding of the peripheral nerves and truly an extension of the neurological examination. Her practice philosophy is to provide excellence in diagnosis, which will aid in a better clinical outcome for each and every patient.

She received her medical degree at the Madurai Medical College in India and completed her residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in New York. She also completed a Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Her professional awards and honors include a Certificate of Excellence for an Outstanding Scientific Presentation at Rush University’s Research Forum, Chicago, IL.

Dr. Swaminathan and her husband Mohan Manian have two daughters Meghan and Sara.
