Dr. Nemickas joined Lake Shore Orthopaedics in 2002. He received his B.S. from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. in 1989 and his M.D. from University of Illinois at Chicago Medical School in 1994. Dr. Nemickas completed his internship and residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical School in 1999.


 

Dr. Nemickas is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Illinois State Medical Society, and Chicago Medical Society. Holding certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, he is also an Oxford and a Carticel Trained and Certified Surgeon as well as a Diplomate with the National Board of Medical Examiners.

In addition to General Orthopaedics, Dr. Nemickas’ focuses his practice around Arthroscopic Shoulder and Knee Surgery (including Rotator Cuff Repair, SLAP and Labral Repair), Cartilage Transplantation and Grafting, Computer-Assisted Knee Replacement Surgery, Instability and Ligament Reconstruction, Minimally Invasive Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery, Sports Medicine, and Unicompartment Knee Reconstruction with Mobile Bearing Knee.

He sees patients at Condell Medical Center, Hawthorne Surgical Center, Lake Forest Hospital, and Victory Memorial Hospital (Vista East). Plus, he is a Clinical Instructor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Nemickas and his wife Elizabeth have three children, Keighley, Margaret, and Jack.
