Dr. Serafin DeLeon, a hand and upper extremity specialist, joined our practice in 2004. He is a candidate for membership in the American Academy of Orthopeadic Surgeons and the American Society for the Surgery of the Hand. His practice interests include Elbow Arthroscopy for the Recalcitrant Lateral Epicondytitie (tennis elbow), Fracture Care, Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery, Joint Replacement of the Hand, Wrist, and Elbows, and Minimally Invasive Carpal Tunnel Surgery.


 

Born in Watham, MA, he received his B.S. from the University of Michigan, graduating with High Distinction, in 1993, and his M.D. from Northwestern University Medical School in 1997. He then completed his internship at Rush-Presyterian-St Luke’s Medical Center, his residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and a Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at Brown University School of Medicine, where he also served as a clinical instructor.

His awards include: Class Honors and the James B. Angell Scholarship from University of Michigan, Alpha Omega Alpha from Northwestern University Medical School, and the 2003 Clinical Anatomy Award from the Northwestern Orthopaedic Residency Program.

Dr. DeLeon and his wife, Dr. Jennifer Chan, have two children, Marissa and Brendan.
